Finally made it to the @royalacademyarts to one of the PV’s last night and found ‘In My Mind’ in the middle of one @corneliaparkerartist ( big thanks Cornelia) blue walls. It was such a wonderful experience walking through the doors of the RA knowing that I had a piece in the #summerexhibition2024 ! And there she was up there amongst so many amazing works for company and she had a red dot 🔴…. Love that colour and thanks for the inspiration from the red dress worn by @alanmeasles and knowing Cornelia had chosen blue for the room it only seemed right to wear a red dress 🟦🎈🟦. ….the show is on until mid August .. Yesterday’s printing. Finished latest print based on @singer_sargent ‘s painting called Madam X. His career and the models reputation was nearly ruined because he dared to paint her with a lose strap off her shoulder. … which he changed to be firmly upright in the end to be acceptable to the establishment. I found this shocking and know that these rules are still applied to many women around the world. . So I’ve taken a portrait of my eldest daughter, in the same pose, with the strap off the shoulder and gilded it in gold. #freedoms #precious #humanrights #art #screenprint #artmaker #screenprinter
