I’ll be posting more closeups of the paintings soon, but if you see anything that strikes your interest please reach out about availability and any other questions you might have!
“Alien Tourism” 24”x36”
“The Integratron, circa 1954, is located in Landers, California, 20 miles north of Joshua Tree National Park. Its creator, George Van Tassel (1910-1978), claimed that the structure is based on the design of Moses’ Tabernacle, the writings of Nikola Tesla and telepathic directions from extraterrestrials. This one-of-a-kind 38-foot high, 55-foot diameter, all wood dome was designed to be an electrostatic generator for the purpose of rejuvenation and time travel.“
I met a guy who owned a funky shop in Joshua Tree. We got to talking and I told him I was staying in Landers, and his face lit up. He showed me the original scale model of the Integratron encased in a glass dome that he got from his uncle way back when. After that, it seemed like half the people I met would describe their experience of going to this dome, and every story was a mix of whimsical, profound, and unbelievable. These stories about seeing visions, feeling vibrations, and being transported kept my imagination busy the whole time I worked on this piece.
I made this series last fall @jana.koya and now, in just two weeks, I can finally show yall @cruisecontrolgallery
It was an incredible experience to work out of one of my favorite artists’ studios for a couple months. All the sunshine made it an easy place to have good ideas - Thanks @aaronglasson for the space and constant inspiration
