Sky view of my installation on the rooftop of Temple Station. The giant floor painting has gone now, but the tiled mosaic remains. Listen to hear some more about the concept behind the work.
We’ve just released a limited edition of beautifully embroidered patches to celebrate the work. DM @thecolab.art or @vigogallery for details. Thank you so much to @stem.studios for capturing this! ☺️🙏🏾

Introducing ‘HERE WE COME, HERE WE RISE’, a permanent public artwork that I’ve been collaborating with architects @if_do on for the last couple of years. I’m so happy to finally be able to share it with everyone!!! 🤗🙌🏾🤩🙏🏾
Commissioned by Related Argent to wrap around an electricity substation and to stand as a landmark for a new development in @brentcrosstown in North London, it’s now one of the largest permanent public artworks in the UK!

‘TIL THE SUN COMES UP‘
We’re thrilled to reveal the artwork for this year’s Universal Music BRITs party invitation… designed by the visual artist @lakwena !
In designing the invites, Lakwena says, “Collaborating with Universal Music on this project feels like a really meaningful expression of the relationship between art and music. More and more I value relationships, community, and coming together, and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to do that.
“The artwork is about how music brings us together, and how it can lift us and take us out of our present situation and ultimately bring joy and hope. It’s polychromatic and euphoric, reflecting that feeling we get from coming together to make, celebrate and listen to music.”
Lakwena follows acclaimed artists @yinka_ilori , @attzs_ and @matt.dosa in collaborating with us on our BRIT Awards party.
