I can’t wait to walk the Burnham Art Trail and see everyone’s beautiful art. A huge thank you to @peaberriescoffee for having me again this year. These are mixed media cyanotypes on Indian rag paper. I painted bird silhouettes with cyanotype solution and arranged plants & seeds as a mask. These were then exposed to sunlight, washed to stop the reaction and the cyanotype solution turns blue. I have collaged these with paper leaves & plants which were die cut from other cyanotypes and embellished with gold Posca. Come and join me for a workshop next week, book via BlueGardenStudio on Eventbrite.

In the Isles of Scilly, found giant ferns at Tresco Gardens and am addicted to photographing the interesting plants growing out of garden walls around the islands. Also there are many lovely wildflowers along the coastal paths so I did a walk & cyanotype with a handful of common ones. A lovely place for photographing, sketching, walking with family, and eating homemade cake!

A glassy day yesterday teaching lampwork. We used silver leaf, Double Helix Aurae and webbed intense black stringer. The video is a bead I made after the class which is my favourite combo of silver leaf, encased in transparent green with Aurae stringer on top. I’m running a beginners glass beadmaking workshop on Friday 28th June during the Burnham Arts Trail. You can book at Blue Garden Studio on Eventbrite or via

This may not look exciting to you but it is for me! I put these bluebells and bleeding hearts in silica sand for a couple of weeks and they have dried beautifully and retained their shape & lots of colour. I have a few options for these in mind but anyone else have ideas? This is just for fun as a little experiment. BTW It’s a bit tricky getting all the sand particles off (you must also be careful when working with silica sand as particles are harmful if breathed in).
