Siamo tornati a Taormina! Grazie alla collaborazione con @taobukfestival , un’opera della #CollezioneMAXXI è visitabile, gratuitamente e tutti i giorni, nelle sale di Palazzo Corvaja fino al 28 luglio. Si tratta de “Le Ore” di Luigi Ontani, un’installazione nella quale l’artista, protagonista in ognuna delle 24 stampe fotografiche che compongono l’opera, si manifesta sotto molteplici identità. E proprio l’identità, tema di questa nuova edizione del Festival, è al centro anche della ricerca del #MAXXIMed , che si focalizza sul Mare Nostrum adottando una visione che ne riconosce la pluralità: dunque le identità dei “Mediterranei”. Thanks to our collaboration with TAOBUK taormina book festival, a work from the MAXXI Collection, ‘Le Ore’ by Luigi Ontani, can be enjoyed by all, free of charge and every day, in the beautiful rooms of Palazzo Corvaja until 28 July. It is “ Le Ore” (The Hours) by Luigi Ontani, an installation in which the artist, the main character in each of the 24 photographic prints that make up the work, manifests himself under multiple identities. Esther Stocker @esther_stocker_studio (foto 3), una delle 19 artiste presenti al MAXXI nella mostra "Ambienti 1956 - 2010. Environments by women artists II", reinventa completamente lo spazio del grande atrio della Stazione - al termine dei lavori di revisione speciale - con l’opera site specific "Prospettiva comune" (2024). Oltre 8.000 metri di nastro adesivo nero, su sfondo bianco, ricoprono pareti, soffitto, pilastri e dispositivi di accesso secondo un fitto sistema di linee ortogonali. I passanti, grazie alla loro personale percezione dello spazio, diventano un elemento indispensabile per attivare l’opera. . . Esther Stocker, one of the 19 artists at MAXXI in the exhibition 'Environments 1956 - 2010. Environments by women artists II', completely reinvents the space of the station's large atrium - at the end of the special overhaul work - with the site-specific work 'Prospettiva comune' (Common Perspective, 2024). Over 8,000 metres of black adhesive tape on a white background cover the walls, ceiling, pillars, and access devices according to a dense system of orthogonal lines. E tu, hai mai visto la luce? Swipe right! . . Have you (ever) seen the light? Swipe right if you understand Italian, or keep reading for the English version: you find yourself inside To Breathe, an environment first created in 2006 by South Korean artist @kimsoojastudio . It is a site-specific installation in which special diffraction films spread infinite rainbow reflections in space when external light passes through them. "The spectrum of light is constantly changing," says the artist, and sunlight moves towards the gallery and out of it like human breath. The lowered ceiling of this museum space makes the environment enveloping and contemplative, pushing us towards an introspective journey and confrontation with ourselves. Art can be experienced with patience; this is possible when nature brings it to life. Without light, the horizontal and vertical cuts on the films would not create the prism effect that, in turn, would not make this great rainbow in which we can immerse ourselves. ___ in mostra per: Ambienti 1956-2010.
