Cyber flashing is a form of indecent exposure that takes place online. It happens when someone sends a photo or video of genitals to another person without their consent. Not only is cyber flashing very common (especially against young women and girls), it's a serious crime that can be very harmful. Someone should always get another person's consent before sending them a sexual image of any kind – no matter what kind of contact or interaction they've had before. All of our member Rape Crisis centres work in a trauma-informed way. This means that all of their staff and volunteers have specialist training in how victims and survivors might feel and be affected after sexual abuse or violence - and what help and support they might need.
