Part 2 of sewing my dream summer wardrobe! I finished up this dress that I made from a thrifted bedsheet, and I’m so happy with it!
I decided the length was just not working, so I chopped it and used the remaining fabric to create a ruffle tier. I also had a little extra fabric left, so made a little mini ruffle to sew on top of the skirt seam.
I love how this turned out and how all the details work together! It was a pretty quick sew too and it’s such a comfy floaty dress for summer.

Almost done with this dress and now kind of regretting not keeping it a mini (2nd slide)?! I added a tier so it’s almost midi, but I kind of love it short too!
It was a bit TOO short and was giving me toddler vibes, but we could always take the tier off again…the full reveal will be up soon!

I’ve had this sheet for a little while and didn’t want to cut into it because it’s so pretty but finally decided on a design for it! It turned out so good, but I’m undecided on the length! Let me know in the poll what you think!

I posted this last year and it’s one of my favourite tricks for adding seam allowance quickly, especially for toiles and patterns that I drape!
I bought these little magnets to make my own magnetic pin cushions with thrifted dishes but never got around to it, but they worked perfectly for this seam allowance hack!
Just beware- your scissors will get magnetized, so maybe don’t use your favourite pair! All my pins are magnetized anyways from magnetic pin cushions so I don’t really mind.

I love getting outfit inspo on social media, but the amount of Amazon and Shein hauls I see on a daily basis is actually disturbing. The fashion industry is one of the top polluters and is responsible for up to 10% of global carbon emissions, and up to 92,000,000 tons of clothing ends up in landfill every year.

Made a dreamy linen summer dress and am in love with how it turned out! I used @mettler_thread Seracor serger thread to finish the seams and it’s such a lovely thread to work with.
Although the dress turned out great, I do want to make some changes - I’m going to straighten out the neckline, add a split/tie at the front, and change the shirring to elastic channels instead, but it’ll definitely have the same vibe!
I got so many messages about this dress and asking about whether it would be a pattern, so I’m going to post a tutorial on how to draft it on my Patreon, and also possibly offer it as a pdf pattern! Let me know in the poll!

Making organza flowers with my @singernorthamerica Momento
I’ve been so inspired by the @metgalaofficial_ floral gowns, and wanted to try making some flowers to add to the dress I made for Toronto Frocktails.
I designed the flower in illustrator and saved it as an SVG file, then uploaded it to MySewnet software and it was all super easy. The Momento is amazing and cuts up to 24” x 24” and can cut a wide variety of fabrics.
I love how the flowers look, now I just have to make about 100 more 👀

Clearing out my drafts. The strap attachment on this dress came out so clean and I’m really happy with it.

I have to make some mods to the skirt to fix the hip panels, but the fit of the bodice is so good 😊
