I had an idea, almost 40 (!) years ago that I could mark a surface and tell you a story in the same stroke of the pen. It was an idea that when it was bouncing around in my head it made me crazy, not mad, not insane, but crazy; A spicy stew of wants and needs and fear, cookng on the stove of a young adult mind. I went home to talk to my mom about it. “one day they are going to let me paint walls in this town whenever I want”. Mom just cried. It wasnt long ago that the cops were at this very house looking to lock me up for painting walls in this very town. She thought I was not crazy, but mad and insane. Her crying made me really question my sanity, but regardless of my mental health, I still had this idea in my head and it was still cooking in my overclocked brain. Lucky me, I had everything in my pocket to save my life, a ballpoint pen and a WAWA receipt. If an idea in your head is making you crazy, draw it out. Do it again tomorrow and the next day. Before you know it, 40 years have gone by. How do I feel? 🎶Still Crazy After alll these yearsss”a
