Day 1 of Wimbledon from the pov of a first timer! 🎾🍓🍾 What an experience to be at Day 1 of the championship: getting a sneak peak at Centre Court, watching some really exciting games (Lloyd Harris vs Alex Michelsen was 🔥), drinking an overpriced Pimm’s on Henman Hill, truly iconic 🙌🏻 I also wanted to include my first timer Top 5 Tips if you’re visiting Wimbledon this year! 1. Go to Southfields station, not Wimbledon station (Southfields is closer!) however if you do go to Wimbledon station, you get to walk through beautiful Wimbledon Village. The courts are a 15 minute walk from Southfields station and a 25 minute walk from Wimbledon station! 2. If you have tickets before arrival like us, arrive as close to 10am as possible to maximise your day. We walked straight in but if you’re aiming for the queue I reckon the earlier the better 3. Bring your own picnic AND booze! It’s one bottle per person so bring as much as you’re allowed (when we finished our brought in stuff, we got 2 Pimms for the grand total of £25 🥴) 4. When you walk in, just grab a seat at any of the open courts. Play starts at 11am and trust me the tennis will come to you, our favourite games were the in-person ones on the smaller courts and big names practise on them too 5. If you want merch, get it within the first couple of hours. Game, set, match! 🎾 What a wonderful day at @thehurlinghamclub as a guest of @marriottbonvoy enjoying the @giorgioarmanitennisclassic 🍾 As well as amazing live tennis (my first time watching a live match!) we enjoyed all the fantastic hospitality that Marriott Bonvoy has to offer! 🥂 Firstly we started with a champagne reception in the @jwmarriotthotels Garden and a player Q&A 🍷 Next was a delicious 3 course lunch in the East Wing! ☕️ After popping over to @thewhisperingangel pop up for alllll the rosé, play commenced! I absolutely loved the rolling afternoon which took place throughout the matches - after a coffee and some scones, we were ready for more tennis! A weekend straight out of a period drama at @bailbrookhousehotel in Bath 💙 🛁 I adored staying in the Lady Isabella King suite - such a Fleur-coded room! With wooden features, original fireplace, a delightful roll-top bath positioned in the centre of the bathroom facing the traditional long windows - giving you the perfect view of the Somerset hills. Alllll the Bridgerton vibes! 🫖 Downstairs on a lazy Sunday afternoon I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in one of their many sun-trap lounges and read, I was so content 🚂 Bath is less than 2 hours from London by train, perfect for a weekend getaway. The hotel is about a 45 minute walk from Bath City Centre, but is easily accessible by bus or car.
