One of the most popular highlights at any edition of The Other Art Fair is our on-site workshops. These highly popular activations let guests of any experience level connect with their artistic side while surrounded by some of the best-emerging artists the world has to offer. The Balcones Artist in Residence is a new initiative formed to empower artists to transcend traditional studios and create artwork that showcases their interpretation of bold, free-thinking, reinvention, and embracing the magnetic sense of creative possibility that comes from expressing your full self.

His mural installation and ceramic used refined shapes balanced with sharp and rounded symbols of nature, emanating a dreamlike homage to the volatile Texas climate where Balcones whisky is made.

#ad Friday late in #Brooklyn was unforgettable, and so much of that is thanks to our official partner @BalconesDistilling . We welcomed the Balcones distilling team at ZeroSpace for whisky tastings and a special installation by Balcones Artist in Residence @keyatama . Tama’s artwork can be described as blending the ancient with modern aesthetics, he pays tribute to architectural marvels through styles reminiscent of decorative relief and tiled mosaics. Elegantly deconstructing elements of nature, his mural embodies the fusion of tradition and innovation - reflective of the spirit of modern independence. Like the resilience of cacti embodying the spirit of Texas, his overall design symbolizes the perseverance and a visual celebration of Balcones’ Texas Whisky.
