After Regan Russell’s 4 year death anniversary memorial/vigil, many activists decided to volunteer their time at @fluffy.butt.rescue . It’s important to know that activism shouldn’t be entirely doom and gloom. This is why every now and again we do these double headers by going to a sanctuary afterwards. It’s nice to be reminded of the lives as well as the personalities that are still here with us. These animals serve as a beacon of light for many. They cause one to remember why we must never lose hope. ALWAYS FOR THEM. 💚💪💯

On the early morning of June 19th, activists came together to celebrate Regan Russell’s 4 year death anniversary. They went on to honor her name by reciting poetry and performing music. This form of activism serves as a healing modality for advocates. Secondly, it serves as a way to communicate a powerful message to the ones who are actually doing the oppressing. If you were the one on that truck being transported to your death, would you want this to stop now or later?

In honor of Regan Russell who died 4 years ago on June 19th, @tearsforchange will be hosting a double header. We will bear witness, read poetry, showcase a live music performance, watch video testimonials about who Regan really was and volunteer our time at an ALL VEGAN animal sanctuary. 🌱
We understand people may not be able to make it to both events. If you can make it to one but not the other then great. If you can make it to both even better. The weight that comes along with a vigil can be overbearing to some. We are hoping to overcome that by remembering a special kind of person such as Regan. Someone who served as a beacon of light for activists of the past, present and future. ☀️🌇🌻
Regarding @fluffy.butt.rescue , please do not feel obligated to stay for the entire 4 hours. Do what you can of course. Lunch will be covered by the sanctuary. This is their way of showing gratitude and appreciation for all the hard work that volunteers do. We hope to see everyone next week, until then KEEP ON FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT. 💪

THE ANIMALS NEED US MORE THAN EVER.‼️‼️
Yesterday morning I woke before 2:30am in order to get ready and make my way to a Halal Slaught€rhouse in Newark, NJ.
This particular slaught€rhous£ is one I’ve been to several times in the past handful of years.
And each time it wrecks me.
Yesterday, myself, and several other activists, bore witness to innocent mother cows about to be slaught€red for burgers.
These mamas made the horrendous trip from Ontario, without food or water, in absolute filthy conditions.
When offered water, many of the cows were desperate to reach the bottles and drink up.
Some of us went back to fill up multiple times and still these babies wanted more.
I witnessed one cow with a tear streaming down her face (in case you weren’t aware, they DO CRY) and a couple allowed pets and a kind voice.
I cannot believe we do these things every minute of every day to beings NO DIFFERENT THAN OUR DOGS AND CATS and yet the majority can care less.
I don’t even know what more I can do or say.
What will it take for you to consider them???
My heart is broken … they are already gone. 💔
