@derrickmonasterio ) charm offensive online—from everyday inanities to new projects and ventures wrapped whether in deliberate or unwitting online-dubbed thirst traps to effortless displays of his showbiz DNA—merits him collective virtual squeals from his religious phalanx of supporters to casual onlookers attracted to bright, beautiful, shiny things they see.
But beyond acing the looks department, the former teen star has, time and again, proven that he is anything but cookie-cutter. He has dropped his own music, joined the pantheon of actors who took the stage carrying an iconic role of a modern jukebox musical canon, beefed up his acting portfolio, and braved the business world.
Now at 28, high off the fumes of the success of his ongoing television series in “Makiling” and a new film that’s years in the making, as the Internet revels on how, on the outside, he has morphed into that token hot stuff—with looks only afforded denizens of Olympus—Monasterio looks on the inside, and dialogues with the man the years allowed him to become.
