CAOS AT 19 HILL ROAD!
Elly Platt @takeitupwearitout has been setting up for Carshalton Artists Open Studios today and has shared a little time-lapse of her putting up her wonderful vintage mannequins and getting them dressed!
“This is usually the dining nook in @rebeccatuckerpaintings kitchen so I have to take the light fittings into account (just realised how many times I bonked into them during this video 🤦🏻♀️). In previous years they have acted as headpieces for my mannequins, but one of them has a real head of her own this year, so the kitchen has a new look this time around!
Eagle eyed viewers might have noticed a brief cameo by @stathis_dimitriadis who was busy setting up his ceramics (and had colour-coordinated his t-shirt, glasses and vintage Tupperware reusable cup 🧡), and with @katemarsdenart already set up in the hallway and @crispin.jenny and @franciskenney.studio taking advantage of a balmy summer evening to put up their gazebos, we’re nearly ready to welcome you all from 11am tomorrow morning!”

This one has been a bit of a backwards and forwards battle but I think I’m there with it… the background was too flat so I’ve ended up repainting all the layers completely. Swipe to see some close ups where you can see the brush strokes, I love how very watery paint dries like this…
I’m supposed to be prepping for #CAOSart24 but I got waylaid by paint.
