A group of @northwesterneng students designed a snackable shell, dubbed a “GastroPop,” to help inform strategies for restoration and conservation.
The team worked with a Shedd Aquarium research biologist on the artificial snail’s design and even traveled to Miami for a field test.

Yesterday, Northwestern and local leaders celebrated the formal groundbreaking for the new stadium. Set to open in 2026, the new Ryan Field will be one of the most accessible stadiums in college football, achieve LEED Gold-Certified standards for sustainability, and will include a community park and public greenspaces for residents to enjoy year-round.

Northwestern University today celebrated the formal groundbreaking for the new Ryan Field, a 100% privately funded project set to bring thousands of jobs and nearly $660 million in economic impact to the City of Evanston and surrounding areas.

Pool noodle 🤝 Robot
Northwestern engineers have developed a new #AI algorithm for smart robotics.
By helping robots rapidly and reliably learn complex skills, the new method could significantly improve the practicality and safety of self-driving cars, delivery drones and more.
While the researchers have only tested their new algorithm on simulated robots, they built NoodleBot for future testing in the real world.
