This was a submission for APF 2020 but actually started as a personal project: I made this poster after watching a documentary called "My boss, that algorithm", which questions the current and challenging topic of innovation in the working sector. It talked about Lukas Biewald, the founder of Figure Eight (that employs "independent entrepreneurs" as they like to call them, that are paid an estimated 3,31dollar/hour to train Artificial Intelligence through microtasking). So, during a conference taking place in 2010, he commented, taking the artist Aaron Koblin "Sheep market" (the one that uses Amazon Mechanical Turk) as an example, he goes to say:  "Before the internet, it would be really difficult to find someone, sit them down for 10 minutes and get them to work for you, and then fire them. With technology, you can actually find them, pay them the tiny amount of money and then get rid of them when you don't need them anymore." His speech sounds very detached while talking about people… But of course nothing is ever all black or white. Rather this makes you think about all the processes behind this kind of technology. Thank you for reading, Take care Alex •••••• #innovation #artificialintelligence #work #poster #eyeondesign #graphicdesign #graphikradar #visualgraphic #typography #visualart #typo #motiondesign #snapmagazine #blackandwhite #generaleclectics #graphicindex #femmetype #thebrandidentity #fkndesign #nicogscollection
