BET AWARDS ‘24 with @tyla 🐅 This is my second @betawards and I love this event so much. I had an amazing time bringing this Tiger to life, and learning about South African culture. Babyyy, the chills that ran through the room when we hit the stage was palpable!! Everybody was on their feet, and our South African Princess delivered! Thank you to @lana_chromium for choosing me to display your amazing art. @tanishascott , I’ve been waiting to get into a room with you, and I hope for many more opportunities to be on your team. Thank you for everything! I AM the belly of the beast! For the Culture ✊🏾👑 What type of BTS would you like to see?

Sapphic Portraiture Series pt. IV Did you know PRIDE is an acronym!? It stands for Personal Rights In Defense and Education. This is because the LGBTQIA+ community is still fighting for basic rights in many areas including healthcare, employment, and personal safety. Yes, still. Did you also know that most Pride celebrations are funded by community members, and act as 501 3c? This means every bit of profit is contributed back to the community in support of the accessibility to said basic rights. Most community members are volunteers. Over 50 years ago, women began taking control of irrevocable human rights, and lesbians have always been there. We have showed up in straight and queer spaces to advocate and inspire. Lesbians are the backbone of the queer community, and advocacy is inherent to this lifestyle. I am so proud to continue protesting for our rights, and celebrating our culture. Once Pride season is over, I hope you take action in defense of irrevocable human rights for you, your loved ones, and your neighbors. It’s a shared responsibility, and we all must do our part. Pictured above- In November 1977, the very first National Women’s conference was held in Houston Texas. This the only federally funded women’s conference in history!! Joanne Murray and Kay Rorer celebrate the passage of the controversial sexual preference resolution at the national women’s conference with signs that read “i love this woman (with all my heart).” Other signs included “LESBIAN RIGHTS IS A WOMENS ISSUE” and “WE ARE EVERYWHERE”. Happy Pride. Stay Safe. Be Love. 🏳️‍🌈

Colorful Chaos 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣 I had an idea for some dance photos, and the process to achieving the final result was a lot of trial and error. Here’s a look into the process - 1.) The Final Result!! Yess! 2.) We rented @719studios in DTLA for a couple of hours and had an ambitious list of creative ideas to capture. So, as we were about to finish the rental time, I really wanted to try and get a photo of me dancing with falling colorful balls 😆. Nbd. No real idea of how it was going to happen, but I know @djbrynntaylor and I can achieve anything!! This is one frantic attempt. 3.) Results of said attempt. Not bad. Not as chaotic as it felt. 4.) Um… not enough balls lol 5.) I went rogue with the pose. Time was running out. Ahh 6.) Original Inspo 😆🤰🏽. I typically collect inspiration from many sources for my photos, and make sure to put my own flare on them. For this one, I can see these balls are photoshopped into the frame so it seems they are surrounding the model. However, I don’t heavily photoshop my insta and I’m pleased with the final result! I think with a bit more time, would could have really played with shapes and colors. Would you like to see a reel of inspo pics vs. final results!? I can show you what inspired me vs. what I created.

PRIDE at Universal Studios 💞🏳️‍🌈 This feeling is sensational!! Lately, the amount of opportunities to perform that come my way are few and far between. If I want to perform it seems I have to create the opportunity myself. With the help of great minds like @djbrynntaylor and @morganmcmicheals , we produced a show for Pride @unistudios and it was phenomenal. Drag and entertainment is paramount to the queer community, and it’s time we highlight the entire spectrum of entertainers who make our lives so vibrant. Thank you to my LGBTQIA+ fam for seeing me! Also, a drop split at 32 ain’t bad 💅🏾 Original Choreography @britta_grant Mix @djbrynntaylor Dancers @britta_grant @aj_wtkns Video @tiffanydi0n

Sapphic Portraiture Series pt. III Back in the ‘90s if you were under 30 you didn’t know older gay people simply because most gay people were INVISIBLE. Nancy Andrews, one of this country’s great documentary photographers, illuminates a part of American culture too often hidden from most people’s view in her book FAMILY: A Portrait of Gay and Lesbian America. Beginning in the 80’s, Nancy begin documenting queer America eventually to publish in 1994. Ms. Andrews’s sensitive, stirring collection of 70 black-and-white photographs with accompanying oral histories, is an important record of 20th-century queer life! Pictured Above: At the age of 27, Lorelei Holness was named the “Prom Queen” at a 1991 alternative prom for adults who never had the opportunity to go to their own high school prom with the true date of their choice. Thank you @djbrynntaylor for loving me freely and openly every single day. 💞

The amount of top tier wlw visibility in art and music this summer is shivering the sapphic community. We are healing each other y’all & making herstory. It’s beautiful to see 🥹💞

I used to watch @rupaulsdragrace in 2012 and hide it from my roommate by deleting @logotv from my computer search history. Today, over a decade later, I will be performing my own choreography while I open a show for @lapride featuring the very same Queens who inspired me to live my life authentically. I will be dancing to an original mix made by the love of my life @djbrynntaylor , and we get to do it all @unistudios ! This is a pinch me moment, and young Britta is absolutely beside herself. I can’t wait to fully absorb this experience and make myself proud. I love being a queer woman, and I love representing my community. There is no greater joy in life than finding yourself, and if you’re struggling with your identity just know there is a place for you. It’s never too late to start living in your truth because it truly does get better 💞✨

PRIDE Outfit Inspo 🌈✨💞 Wearing rainbows to Pride is to be expected. However, there are so many ways to express yourself through fashion while outwardly showing your pride!. I love to wear PINK during Pride season, and all year round, as its powerful association to the divine feminine deeply resonates with me. Wearing pink and representing the L in our rainbow family makes me feel the most confident, festive and celebratory. How do you express your pride through fashion? Holler at me if you’d like fit details 🩷 Stay safe and be love. Happy Pride!! 🏳️‍🌈✨

Sapphic Portraiture Series pt. II There is very little to know about this image besides the description of “vintage lesbian couple.” With a very complex history of white privilege, white gatekeeping, and discrimination in our country, the erasure of the queer experience has been highly affective. This leaves very few cultural references with credited sources for us to now learn and grow from. Imagine rarely seeing a hetero wedding from the past, or a family portrait from your lineage simply because of who was in the photo. This Pride month, in honor of lesbian visibility, I would like to honor this work with an updated description to this recreated piece of sapphic history- Britta Grant and Brynn Taylor, femme lesbian couple of 6 years pose entangled in white linens on the floor. In a soft embrace, stoically gazing into the camera, this self portrait is a modern recreation of a vintage lesbian couple from an unknown time. Posing in a loft at 719 S. Los Angeles Street in Downton Los Angeles, this self portrait was digitally captured on June 6, 2024 in honor of Pride month and lesbian visibility. Britta and Brynn are advocates of the LGBTQIA+ community, and professional entertainers who use their art to spread joy and healing to all those around them.
