Bodybuilding has evolved a long way from when I first started, but my love of training and bodybuilding remains.
It’s exciting to see so many people in the gyms getting ready for shows again this year to showcase their hard work after the roller coaster 2 years we’ve all had.
Some footage from the archives when my delts had their own post code!
2016, about 3-4 weeks out from the World Championships in Brazil and my first World Title.
Watching the footage reminds me of the willpower it took, the sacrifices made and how much it hurt to get that lean and dry.
Anyone that makes it to the stage in contest shape has my respect because I know what it took to get there. I look forward to sitting in the audience this year and appreciating the physiques on display.
What a roller coaster 2021. Plenty of hits, but plenty of good stuff too. Keep dusting yourself off, keep being positive and keep moving forward. Life is to be lived everyday.
The older you get, the more you appreciate the simple things. Of what is important and what is not. The things that are rewarding, worthwhile & put a smile on your face.
Attitude and perspective - I learnt not to waste precious time & energy on negativity, that is just noise. Stick to what you can control - you.
The countdown is now on - another lap around the sun today, a bee’s dick off the big half century.
Lots to look forward to, roll on 2022.
PS. I’ll be booking another shoot Carl, I’m bringing a different bike! @themasterofmuscle
Brings back memories, preparation for the NABBA Worlds in Brazil.
Without fail, for each contest prep I’d done up until then - every second day I would prep 2 days worth of food. Couldn’t stand anything frozen, all had to be cooked fresh. Took me around 2hrs each time. Never missed a beat, never accepted excuses or took a shortcut, always had my structured plans. And ALWAYS set the benchmark for conditioning.
That’s prob why I enjoy the convenience of the Food4Fitness meals. Fresh, macro specific, cooked for me, delivered. I almost feel lazy.
