For the record anyone who says dance isn’t a sport is wrong, we practice an extreme amount of hours a week ranging from 6-25+ hours a week. Our injuries are minor or major ones, many overuse from how much practice we put into our sport. We’re not just a sport but an arts too. Dance is competitive just as much as a “normal” sport like football is as we go against teams and compete for
#1 . The difference is, we use emotions, movements, art, and a lot more visual than most sports. We put blood, sweat, and tears into our sport and even other sports use ours as a way to find balance and control over themselves. And we can’t just sub in someone so easily, we need every single person that’s on our team because we are all dancing, it takes more time and practice because we have to be on time and obtain skills that we might not have, the flexibility and core work we need for this. Also we fight through injuries and don’t let them stop us no matter what, some sports may become benched but we will dance in a cast, braces, sling, boot, nothings stopping us.
