This warthog is trying to scratch an itch!
They do this to either relieve itches often caused by insects or parasites. Scratching can help them remove ticks and other parasites. Warthogs might also rub against trees to help shed their fur or manage the growth of new fur during certain seasons. These behaviours are common and an important part of their daily routine out in the wild.
