#ArchitizerAwards : Tainan Public Library by Mecanoo (@mecanoo ) and MAYU Mecanoo's design for Tainan Public Library features an iconic inverted stepped structure supported by slender columns, creating a modern bamboo forest aesthetic. The building's aluminium slats filter light and heat, while sunken patios host outdoor activities and events. Inside, a double-height atrium showcases interactive art and a red sculptural staircase intersects all levels. The library houses over a million books, including rare historical collections, with dedicated spaces for children, teenagers and heritage archives.
