I have only ever been lucky enough to find the fruiting bodies once before, so it's quite rare to actually see it fruiting! 😮
The turquoise stained wood was highly prized in the 18th and 19th century by expert woodworkers, who used it to create extraordinarily coloured inlays in wooden boxes. It is also known as 'green wood' but is hard to work with due to the fungus weakening the material. 🪵
I have collected many pieces over the years which have been curing, I am planning on crafting something with the timber one day!
