The @jacob.jolliff Band holds a special place in the history of WTJU as the first act to play at the Ivy Road location after the move from Lambeth Commons. Five years later, the band returns this Wednesday, June12, ahead of their @frontporchcville concert that evening at @potterscraftcider . Their visit to WTJU will be live video streamed on WTJU’s Facebook page and YouTube channel around 3pm. It will air on the radio the following afternoon during Folk & Beyond, 4-7pm. The band is currently touring behind Jolliff’s latest release, “Instrumentals, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries” (out now on @adhyroparecords ). In 2022, Jacob was called on by world famous banjo player, Béla Fleck, to tour as part of My Bluegrass Heart. He performed around the country alongside Béla and some of the very best musicians in the genre. Now in 2024, the mandolinist’s main focus is The Jacob Jolliff Band. This ensemble is a group of virtuosic pickers that play Jacob’s original instrumentals, as well as showcase his singing.
