“Hello all!! This is your Miss MIchigan Preteen for 2023-2024 Mia Francesca Albritton, and sadly my time with you is up. This year has been a dream come true!! My personal goal for the year has been to serve the metro Detroit area, which is where I was born and raised. My service started out in October of 2023 with the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Walk. With help from my friends and family, I was able to donate $100 and complete the walk. This initiative is near and dear to my heart as my great grandmother passed away from breast cancer, and my aunt is a stage 4 survivor. I also worked with the Order of the Eastern Stars to make candy bags for underprivileged children for Halloween. It was so much fun. In January of 2024, I teamed up with the Shriners. I initiated a blanket drive and donated them to The Genesis House, which is a homeless shelter in Detroit. It was an awesome day. I also helped serve a delicious lunch to the residents. In April I teamed up with my dance mates to clean and prepare the land for planting at D-Town Farm. It was so relaxing and calming. In May, I teamed up with the Michigan and Canada Desert of Court. I organized a toiletry drive and with the help of family and friends, I made and donated 25 toiletry bags to River Rouge H.S. In total, our group donated 100 bags. Serving my community these last 12 months has afforded me many benefits. These efforts have helped me grow tremendously as a person. It has helped me to unlock skills I did not realize I had. I have also met some amazing people and worked with some great organizations. (Continued in comments)

I would like to thank NAM for helping me to make new friends, build my confidence and self-esteem. Everyone at NAM was so kind and caring. I would also like to thank my sponsors and my family, especially my granddad, who is by far my biggest fan. I would especially like to thank my mother.
