After being unable to reach a unanimous verdict in the trial of Karen Read — the woman charged with killing her Boston police officer boyfriend in 2022 — the judge has declared a mistrial. Read had pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating a motor vehicle under the influence and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
