I used to find a lot of comfort in routines, until I realized how bored I was.
Like, truly bored out of my mind.
I had over scheduled every part of my week to the point where I didn’t have ANY flexibility to try new things. And I was putting so much pressure on myself to do everything perfectly until I woke up one day and thought - wait a sec, I’m not even enjoying this.
don’t get me wrong, I still love building a foundation of my schedule with key habits and a good morning routine. but I started adding in flexibility and blocking time specifically to try new things, at least twice a month.
💡 that’s how I started reading more, playing new sports, trying new restaurants, exploring new places, and found myself overall happier and feeling sharper mentally.
the research doesn’t lie - trying new things gives us a boost. not sure what to try? think about what you loved as a kid and brainstorm activities that relate to that 🫶
