After my dad suffered a massive stroke in 2016, he was left with vascular dementia and short term memory loss. Over the years, we have watched him slowly decline, but are so thankful he is here with us and remembers our faces (though sometimes not our names 😂). Out of response to the trauma of a major, literal overnight change, I didn’t know how else to process but to write. And eventually my writing turned to songs. This song is coming from my perspective as well as my dad’s, as I’d imagine maybe he would feel, but wouldn’t know how to articulate in the state he’s in. It’s called “Remember Me”. Not sure if any of you out here will relate to this song, but my hope is that if you do, it will bring some kind of comfort in knowing others who understand. . . #dementiaawareness #singersongwriter #femalesingersongwriter #songwritersofinstagram Out of response to the trauma of a major, literal over night changes, I didn’t know how else to process but to write. Abby, my Papa just passed after fighting for 5 months with Lewey Body Dementia. I can't imagine how hard it would be from a daughter's place. I shared this with my mom and her 3 sisters. Thank you so much for this, your voice has so much comfort in it ❤️
