Today was a day I will never forget. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, but also the most rewarding.
My loving partner, Justin, was by my side through every moment as we both welcomed our beautiful second son into the world via cesarean section. Justin’s support and love helped me get through some truly tough moments today, and I am so grateful to have him with me on this journey.
Justin’s presence was invaluable. He was my rock, offering constant comfort and strength. I felt completely overwhelmed and scared so he held my hand and whispered words of encouragement, keeping me grounded.
His calm and caring approach made all the difference, helping me through the stress and uncertainty. He anticipated my needs and stayed focused on ensuring I felt safe and supported.
I also want to thank my family for being so supportive and beautiful during the whole time. They took care of Riley’s big brother Jesse while I was in the hospital and all came to meet the newest family member when Justin, Riley and I were ready.
Knowing that Jesse was in good hands and seeing my family so happy to welcome Riley brought me so much warmth and comfort to this challenging day. I’m so lucky to have them.
This morning, I started the day as a mum of one, and now, as I lay here tonight, I am a proud mother of two. Our precious baby boy, Riley Michael Wessels, is here, and my heart is full of love and joy.
Riley’s name, and middle name Michael, was chosen by Justin to honor my dad, making it even more special. It’s amazing how much can change in just one day.
Thank you to everyone who has sent their love and support. Justin and I are overjoyed, and our family has grown with another beautiful soul.
Here’s to new beginnings and a bright future ahead for our family of four.
