Big news! It’s finally time to admit that my mug studio, tiki carvery, lamp workshop, and bar-building operation has outgrown our garage. Pearl convinced me that we need to move into a commercial space so we can keep growing and making more mugs. So we are currently in the process of building out a studio in a rad space in the Oakland Hills. We’re outfitting it with a kiln room, woodshop, art tables, a tiki lounge, and lots of space for molds and mugs! The other big news is that we will be opening up the space as a community art studio (Pau Hana Studio), to share our love of tropical escapism with everyone, where I’ll be teaching workshops in various tiki-related arts. There will also be other teachers and classes in everything from wheel-thrown pottery to book binding and basket weaving. And since our studio will be full of tiki flair, this whole experience will be a fun, relaxing escape to a tropical-themed outpost in the Oakland hills. We’re especially excited about putting together weekend-long experiences for folks from all over the world, combining multiple classes, seminars, and of course outings to the Bay Area’s best tiki bars!  Please give @pauhanastudio a follow for more progress on everything as we get things rolling! . . #artstudio #ceramics #oakland #tikimugs #bayareaarts #pauhanastudio #communitystudio #tikiart #workshop #artspace #oaklandarts #oaklandartist #tikimug #artfactory #artworkshop #tropicalescapism
