CAST THE SPELL IS FOUR WEEKS OLD! Swipe right for bare skin.... The video for Cast the Spell was shot unexpectedly and opportunistically at White Rocks in Malta, on a Google Pixel 6. Mark was visiting his close mate Jim and went for a roam on his first day there to get situated, having not travelled for some time. After a few hours of walking along the coast gathering up a crispy lobster sunburn, he stumbled across a vibrant ghost town, and set about exploring. These are some of the shots from that day of spots that made it in to the shoot. The themes of the song are around managing emotions that one previously didn't have a handle over, and the liberation in doing that. No longer being under the spell, but realising that all along it was you casting it in the first place. The amazing art in this location has reclaimed an abandoned place where lives were once led and complex tales weaved, putting emotion back in residence in an exciting and expressive form. It felt fitting. The next morning, Mark went to a thrift store, found a boiler suit (him and Jim had been discussing @steve.albini the night before...), Jim added an eyeball, and then they set off to boogie. The result can be found in the link in our bio. We're so proud of this song and all the art surrounding it, lovingly crafted by the legendary @jimisuza . If you've not heard the track or seen the video, please show it some love, we really appreciate it and you ❤️ . . . . . . . #grunge #altrock #malta #whiterocks #acidwash #graff #graffart #graffiti #streetart #independent #brighton #photodump #photography #eyeball #google #pixel6
