🌟 Hey there, friends! I’m Tamara Abney, Mrs. Pennsylvania International and the founder of SisterFriend. SisterFriend, Inc. is more than just a non-profit; it’s a movement dedicated to sustaining menstrual health for everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
💜💗It all started with a vision to uplift those facing period poverty, a vision that has been turning into reality since May 2015. Thanks to the support of some incredible friends, we’ve provided over half a million menstrual products to our community.
💪🏾At SisterFriend, we’re all about education, advocacy, and collaboration. Our core mission is to ensure that every school-aged child has access to the menstrual products they need to succeed and stay healthy in school. We’re passionate advocates for free menstrual products and comprehensive education in all schools. And we’re here to fill the gaps in donations and funding, working with schools, shelters, and community organizations to make sure no one is left without the essentials.
We’re proud to be Pittsburgh’s only 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to menstrual health sustainability. But more importantly, we’re committed to empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their menstrual health and well-being. Together, we can make menstrual products and education accessible to all.
