We made it to top 5 in App Store for social networks in the US—passing Twitter, Discord, Reddit, LinkedIn, and Messenger!
Unfortunately this traffic spike has caused the site to crash like crazy, and our small team has been working around the clock to fix the issue. If you have been having a hard time signing up or accessing the platform, this is why.
As some of you know, I’ve been paying out of pocket for Cara for over a year now. It’s a passion project I started because I wanted to see a social and art platform that respects creatives’ rights.
But with the sudden flood of traffic, we’ve had to upgrade our servers seven times and will have to pay $13,500/mth just to cover our database bills in order to keep the site running.
If you can chip in, a coffee would be great help right now—though I understand if you can’t!!!—And thank you to all of our supporters who have sent coffee! You are what’s making it possible for us to keep the site up right now. And we hope Cara can become a great home for everyone who loves art online in time. ❤️
