I feel like I’m turning into the athlete I’ve dreamt of being. While most of you watch me perform in the air or workout in the gym, it’s hard to believe that I’ve had to work incredibly hard to get my body to cooperate. Being athletic has never been easy. This is a great example as I’ve been really painfully bad at bar muscle ups and stringing them together until this morning. Something happened in my brain, and I just understood the assignment. I most definitely surprised myself.
Having the patience and confidence to be bad at something FOR YEARS is a skill that cannot be taught. But every time I doubt my abilities, I can convince myself to wait a little longer or to try a little harder.
Today I got to reap the rewards of consistency and patience with myself, and it felt exceptionally sweet. A special thank you to both Stephen and Cheryl for getting me here, happy with my performance AND the way I look.
