10 years ago today, I officially founded 30 Home Games in a Vilnius hostel after an unforgettable month backpacking Lietuva for EuroBasket. I’m halfway through my mission to visit the 30 NBA cities. My first game was at MSG in 2015, I’ve been on 7 themed tours around the States since. Save for my maiden trip, I’ve backpacked solo to keep costs down. Sticking to public transport, couchsurfing and staying in hostels. The games are simply the call to adventure, a pretext to explore new locales. I’ve made amazing connections through a shared love of basketball. We’ve got an incredible community 💪 🌏🏀. Especially in these lockdown times, I’m appreciative of these experiences. I hope I’m able to inspire others to discover and follow their bliss. Stay safe and let’s get through this together. A highlight on my World Cup tour was balling with locals in Jakarta. Finding instant connection with people just met is what I love most about hoops and travel. To my surprise, our local running mate gifted me one of his jerseys after I’d moved on. Celebrating the Top5 fanbases of the @fibawc . At 2️⃣, Lebanon. I couldn’t have started with a better game to tip-off my World Cup adventure. The Cedars were FIBA Asia runners-up, and I’ve been a big Wael Arakji booster. Unlucky to draw the “Group of Death” the Lebanese faithful still came out in numbers.
