Last night their first season of high school baseball playing together is over (technically).
The joy that filled my mind, body, and heart is unmatched. Finally seeing these two boys share the same field together in high school is more than any parent can ask for.
A lot of ups and downs this season, but grateful for so much.
Both boys grew as athletes, teammates, and brothers. 💙⚾️💙
Additionally, both finished the season injury free. ❤️🩹
Lastly, (and most importantly) in December of 2023, both boys accepted Jesus Christ into their lives as their Lord and Savior. This led them to begin leading prayer before each game. ✝️🙏
Thank you to all our friends and family who have been consistent in supporting the boys. It means more than any of you all will ever know.

Sometimes I forget just how young you are due to your size, but you have impressed me and made me more proud than words can express.
Those who know me, know just how tough I am on Ethan and those that really know me know that I have an extremely soft spot for my baby boy and I would literally do ANYTHING for him.
Well, 16 years later I haven’t had to do much simply because he’s figured it out by himself. He acts like he ain’t listening, paying attention, or simply being a student at life but he is. Trust me…he definitely is.
Academically, athletically, spiritually, and your overall good characteristics are important in today’s society. That along with being a good human being and a good citizen in our community is what you will posses when you are released into this crazy grown up world. Any college and any company will be very blessed to have him around.
Continue to keep your head down and keep working hard son. Everyone around you is very proud of you and the best has yet to come for you - I promise.

I just discovered that my two boys began leading team prayer not too long ago. Prayer before game time wasn’t consistent and some of you all know that the boys recently accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Maybe a coincidence, but either way this will go down as the most successful season these two boys will ever be apart of. Thought I’d share this as we reflect back on what this holiday is truly about. Happy Easter to everyone. ✝️ 🙏

On 02/03/24, Ethan quickly went down on the count 0-2 during his first plate appearance after aggressively swinging at the first two pitches. He made adjustments and stuck to his training. Didn’t back down, he swung at good pitches, avoided bad pitches, and ended up getting a walk after an eight pitch at bat.
Great at bat, son. Love the growth you’re displaying.

Today Elijah and Ethan publicly accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They got baptized today in front of 20+ of their friends and family.
As a parents, we tend to push our kids to do certain things. For us, pushing the boys to put their studies before athletics, to diet correctly, and other accountability activities are examples.
What happened today was 100% their decision. They have been asking the right questions, their faith has increased heavily over the last few months, and going to church consistently has been apart of their monthly goals. They know the significance of being baptized and ultimately decided that this was what they wanted to do.
This is by far the very best Sunday I’ve ever had! 🙏🏼
We are very blessed to have both family and friends there to support both boys in their decision today. ❤️❤️

This weekend was Elijah’s first time officially playing the sport he loves in 10 months. The patience and discipline this kid has is remarkable.
As you can tell from the pic, he still has orders to play with his brace on. Determined and goal oriented, that brace or the fear when anyone comes back from injury didn’t stop him.
He caught his first fly out immediately in the first inning.
When it came time to bat, he aggressively swung at the first two pitches he had thrown at him.
His second at bat, he drives the first pitch he sees to the left center gap for a double.
His team won, he got to share the field again with his younger brother, and was awarded Player of the Game.
Still have a lot of work to do as he gradually gets back into the sport full time, but blessed to say that this all has come around full circle. 🙏🏼

Moral of the story is this: You never know what twists, turns, or changes life has in store for you. One minute things are amazing and the next thing you know something is taken from you instantly. This incident changed their lives forever - but they’ve grown closer together because of it and that’s my biggest takeaway from all this. 🥲
