The stories we share in the film are, to some extent, universally human; they speak of intergenerational pain, trauma and resilience.
We strive to honor the trauma legacy that led many Jews to immigrate to the new state of Israel, while unpacking the deeply dangerous and disingenuous notion that this was a “land without a people for a people without a land.”
There can’t be Peace without Justice — We believe that the minimum requirements are equal rights for all, acknowledgment of the trauma of the Palestinian people over the last 75 years, and letting go of partisan narratives of victimization and blame.
We deliberately chose to listen to and center the voices of the underrepresented, the oppressed, the colonized, the dehumanized, that many Western audiences rarely get a chance to hear or connect with on a human level.
We are well aware of the complexity of historical details, the intricacies of opposing narratives and the convolutions of psychological projections. We expected to find the same complexity on the ground: a multifaceted scenario of shared responsibility and denial. Within a day or two, like anyone who has traveled to the occupied West Bank, we found out that the big picture is surprisingly clear: a brutal settler colonial project imposing a very harsh form of apartheid and bent on ethnically cleansing an indigenous population by all available means.

We come together as artists in the creative sector in Aotearoa, New Zealand to appeal to the acting and incoming New Zealand governments to make an unequivocal call for:
An immediate humanitarian ceasefire.
An end to violence against all civilians, regardless of their identity.
Immediate unimpeded humanitarian aid access in and out of Gaza and The West Bank, including such necessities of life as food, water, fuel and medical supplies.
The reinstatement of water, internet and electricity access to Gaza by Israel.
An end to the siege and blockade of Gaza and The West Bank.
The repatriation of all hostages and political prisoners.
Respect and protection for all civilians.
Respect and protection for civilian infrastructure - electric, water and sanitation facilities, and residential homes – along with hospitals, churches, mosques, refugee camps and schools.
Respect and protection for aid workers, medical staff, human rights workers, journalists, and photographers alongside civilian lives.

The wave of bombing and destruction has reached an indescribable severity, with dramatic humanitarian consequences. As always in these cases, the most affected victims are children, representing half of the population in the Gaza Strip. As of today nearly 3000 Gazan children have been killed in bombings, 40% of casualties. Innocent people are displaced, sleeping in shelters or tents, with huge difficulties to gather food and drinkable water, to receive medical attention.
SOME OF THE WAYS WE CAN HELP?
* Sign a petition: you find can link in my bio of the #CeasefireNOW petition. The aim is to reach 2.2 million signatures, one per each Gazan trapped in the Strip and to engage all 193 UN Member States.
* Donate: you can find link in my bio for a fundraising campaign in Gaza. With the funds collected, funds will provide drinkable water to the population and to restore the functioning of water desalination plants inside Gaza;
* Share: disseminate both actions among your contacts and support the dissemination of correct information on what is happening, always using the humanitarian approach as main perspective.
