How I mixed all my vocal tracks in
@avid.protools ProTools for my latest single ‘Halo’🎙️🎚️
______________
Quick notes:
• Tracked with a
@akgaudio 414 mic and processed in Logic Pro X
• Exported all my tracks from Logic Pro X (some tracks were already processed and grouped in Logic with effects and layers of vocals)
• Organized all the tracks by color and instrument
• Edited all the vocals to be aligned with the lead vocal
• Added some additional EQ (
@avidtechnology EQ3)
• Added some compression (
@uaudio 1176)
• Utilized the trim for clipping/gain staging and also did some of this directly on the track for certain words
• Added some light reverb on my gangs & background vocals for a roomier bigger sound (created a mono aux track for reverb, then created a bus on whichever tracks I want reverb on, then sent to the Reverb and blended in. I dig
@wavesaudio H-Reverb and Pro Tools Stock D-Verb ‘Medium Room’ is an easy simple place to start)
• Some of my background vocals have additional EQ & Compression (I used a BF76 stock plugin as a quick fix for one)
• Balanced everything to my liking with the Lead Vocal being the loudest (panned center) and then blended 2 Vocoder tracks sitting under the lead (panned stereo)
• Balanced all the harmonies, background vocals and gangs to sit under my lead. Then panned all the other vocals spread out wide and in various places til they sat in the mix to my liking.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this Recording BTS💕
