Been almost seven months since my last "peak television" post. Guess it does take longer to get through series than movies, especially for me. Also, an episode probably has to do hell of a lot more than others to stand out. These episodes did, for me.

It has been five years since the fateful night that Rima Gupta almost got married. Now it's the turn of one of those bridesmaids - Kanupriya - to have her dream wedding, and the ladies are back to see this one through. It is a vegetarian, alcohol free wedding, filled with orthodox in-laws and judgmental guests. But this sisterhood - older, but not necessarily wiser - is committed to having a good time, which probably means all hell is going to break loose.

If I had to discern a theme for this bunch, I'd say 'Strange Creatures'. This does include some humans also.

Our third theatre visit to Birdsong was very special. We put up a poignant play in pretty poignant times. A story of a dysfunctional family, surrounded by extended family. We mourned a loss, and we brought in a birthday. Lots of laughter and a fair share of tears.

Some great oldies, foreign films, and movie-making documentaries. Might have to wade through lots of B-movies and soft porn to find a match, but worth a look.
