25 years ago I started making clothes from vintage silk scarves I had collected from around the world . My mum had bought me a singer sewing machine for my 21st birthday. I was living in Shoreditch london , it was such a creative time then .. in the 90’s there was a big repurposed and customising movement happening in fashion , and I really felt a part of this … with my repurposed silk scarf tops and customised 1950’s prom dresses . Now fast forward 25 years , it feels quite like a full circle moment. I have been collecting and repurposing Irish ☘️ Damask tablecloths for a good few years now , and making these into dresses . They are all for sale … all unique and one off . Priced between $120 and $360 AUD . There will be more coming soon … please DM me if you are interested in buying any of these pieces 🪄🌸☘️✨

Spiritual Mental and Physical Health post Approximately a year and a half ago I experienced what felt like a sudden disconnected from the world . It was like I was unplugged energetically from my surroundings, As if the electricity was turned off . I become somewhat of a spectator not a participant in life Around the same time ,or shortly after I experienced a loss of sensation on my whole skin surface . Almost like I was coming off a full body aesthetic . It feels like my whole sensory or somatosensory nervous system had deregistered . There was a real sense of numbness and disconnect . Both sensations have not come back . It’s extremely difficult to experience. Also my detoxification and methylation pathways have shut down too . Every day I feel detached and depressed, but try not to focus on it and just get on with it . My intention for writing this post , is to talk truely in my authentic self and also in hope that I connect with at least one person that has had a similar experience, and we can share and help each other . I have tried countless modalities, seen neurologists, naturopaths , GPs , energy healers , psychics , plant medicine you name it . Some have been very helpful but I have had no resolve with the actual issues . It’s a very abstract condition it seems and hard for people to understand, and diagnose so I feel minimised and unheard . But know just because you can’t see something or label it , doesn’t mean it’s not real . I’m not focusing on the cause of these symptoms, as I don’t think this is the point , and it could be a divisive subject and I really don’t know what caused it . I also actually believe it’s my karma playing out . This was meant to happen to me , it’s in my blueprint . I try to remain curious about this condition, in aim to understand the potential lessons and Dharmic path forward. I actually believe I was meant to sacrifice a sense , be it the sense of touch , in order to activate my sixth sense or intuition and reach a higher consciousness. However this does not make it easier to experience. Continue in comments

Excited to be announcing my collaboration with SHEIN.  I have always resonated with the idea that my designs can become attainable to a wider audience and this collaboration has enabled me to turn this vision into reality. One of my principles as a designer is to make garments that are keepsakes and I’ve taken this philosophy through to the pieces in this collection.  A highlight for me was being able to work with rescued textiles and have also used recycled polyester in this collection. The styles feel fresh, elevated, easy to wear and obviously Alice. Collection launches online Thursday 16 November.

After 2 decades ( 20 years ) , I have come full circle with the brand , Alice McCall. It is time to close the doors , making space for a new chapter in my life I want to say Thankyou and acknowledge all the people that have worn , supported and loved the brand over the years . To me the brand embodied a lightness of spirit , the clothes were something you celebrated life in . You had fun , you felt empowered and you built memories, wearing your Alice pieces . I also want to thank all the people that have worked with the brand over the years , on a whole it’s been a wonderful journey, full of love , laughter and light . Taking a moment to reminisce, the thing that stays with me , is when someone shares their experience in wearing an Alice piece , and how much the memory means to them . This I hold deep in my heart , the ability that the garment has to make you feel good . It’s the art of dress I love . That emotive aspect . It’s that connection that stays with me . I also want to acknowledge the importance of small businesses , in our community, they are the cornerstone in society. We must remember to hold each other up , to make decisions with our heart , and to support each other . We are United and stronger together. Through this account for the next week or so I’ll pay homage to the brand and it’s history, a retrospective. So please do stay connected. I also ask you to post and tag your own memories of wearing Alice Again thank you for your support over the years , but now it’s time to bow out 💛💫photo credit @vogueaustralia @hughstewart_ @pipmoroney
