So! Here’s the thing: last Friday night I hosted an amazing
@BAFTA Gaming panel in honour of the equally amazing Baldur’s Gate 3 and it was - in short - an absolute delight. Also an honour and a privilege, sure, but “delight” is my key word here.
If you’ve listened to any of the Radio 1’s Screen Time gaming podcast specials, you’ll know I truly adore BG3 (and I feel like I spent most of last winter playing and replaying it, to be honest). So to be asked by BAFTA to be part of this event - alongside the wonderful
@penny_dreadful - made this particular geek very happy indeed.
Highlights include asking the likes of
@neilnewbon to read out the classic Come Dine With Me rant “What a sad little life Jane” in the voice of Astarion. Yes, that happened, and much more besides. And
@theameliatyler ’s growl? Don’t get me started. Incredible scenes. Truly incredible. Fingers crossed you’ll get to see some footage from the event soon!
Thank you to everyone involved at BAFTA, including (but not limited to)
@xgraceshin , Luke Hebblethwaite,
@hazzabalmforth and, well, the whole gang. And
@larianstudios themselves of course, notably Swen Vincke, Adam Smith and Chrystal Ding, not forgetting Borislav Slavov, or Dave Jones, Tracy Wiles and Andrew Wincott, who were all *such* good value and made my job so easy.
Oh and the first three photos - the professional, classy ones - are courtesy of BAFTA / Dan Fearon. Check out Dan’s work over here:
