When I started singing this popular Mexican song (Júrame by Maria Grever) I could hear some people humming along in the audience. I met a couple of wonderful Mexican fams at the reception who expressed their appreciation for the song.
These Mexican pop songs from the early 20th century—imho—are unmatched in sheer passion. It’s no wonder Maria Callas was such a big fan of these songs in her youth…🙌🏼🇲🇽🎶

From a concert I sang in DC, with the amazing Katerina Souvorova on piano for @belcantantiopera ‘s concert of music by Franz Lehar. What an incredible cast of singers and artists. This music, it’s like butter. Originally in German (O Mädchen, mein Mädchen), we decided to sing the English translation. It’s beautiful either way..thanks for listening. ☺️

This weekend was amazing…I started off in Jersey City Sunday morning for the very first annual Pistahang Bayan, 2024, involving the combined efforts of our Kababayans residing in all states served by the @phinnewyork
I had such a blast singing some Schubert for their church service and then some Kundiman for the outdoor fiesta, seen here. I can’t wait to sing for yall again soon! Thanks for the beautiful hospitality. 🙏🏼

Birthday weekend celebration in Jersey with the Chan Clan. My Ama turned 97, and we have the same bday (which was yesterday). We celebrated in fortune red and ate some delish Chinese food. I’m exhausted, but it was all worth it. Miss you fam! ♥️🥂🎶

Last night was a huge moment for aapi Americans, celebrating 30 years of the founding of this wonderful organization, @apaics_org After premiering an opera last year about the 1885 expulsion of the Chinese in Tacoma, WA, with @tacomaopera , I realized how important it is to have organizations like this, and for representation. Here’s to another 30 years, and beyond! 🥂🎶
It was a big moment for me personally, as I got to share the stage with such distinguished speakers as @eunyangdc , @adeleblim , and the @potus
