It’s a wrap!!! We just completed the last stop on our June #thejuneteenthcookbook tour at @mofad where we made Fruity Skewers with exquisite @oishii.berry and made and played mancala! It has been such a treat to see new and old friends as we’ve tried to spread a little #blackjoy with the recipes and activities in this book! It has meant the world to us to see so many of you in person and for you to send reports and photos of your individual masterpieces and shelfies of the book in stores and libraries! Stay tuned for more things we’ll be doing over the coming months, but in the meantime, remember just because Juneteenth is over, the essence of the holiday and the beauty of our culture is relevant ALL year long. It was such a treat to collaborate with Taffy on so many events, and until we get @sawyercloud01 to the States, my ridiculous photoshopping will have to do. Thank you all for your support. 🤗🤗🤗 P.S. One of my favorite #blackjobs (hehe) is making the cookout playlist.😛 Since it’s #blackmusicmonth and cookout season is in full swing, I had to extend the playlist I included in #thejuneteenthcookbook ! Those of you who saw the book may have noticed I broke the songs into the various possible musical moments of a cookout. I extended the selections I included in the book (this one gets a little less school/library friendly, so choose at your discretion!) for some other songs you may want to include for your own custom cookout playlist. There are literally hours of music here. I was also able to incorporate some recent adds since the book playlist was locked in a bit ago, before Queen Bey decided to bless us with #cowboycarter and before Princess @graciescorner blessed us with the bop that we know as the #veggiedance .
