I was training for a marathon, LA March 17,
When I received a call to film the job of my dreams!
Didn’t wanna waste my marathon training so,
I pulled forward my race 2 weeks, SoCal River Marathon- Let’s GO!
My hip had been a little sore but as they say,
‘No pain, no gain’- ‘Get out of your own way’!
I woke up early that morning had coffee, oatmeal, did poos,
And against my better judgment, I laced up my running shoes.
I was feeling great the first 15 miles of the race,
Was second female in the field, I’d be first when I picked up my pace.
But my wee hip intensified in pain,
I started slowing down, as it started to rain.
I called up my hubby who was planning to meet me at the finish line,
He said- ‘You’ve just ‘hit the wall’, you’ll be fine!’
I hobbled along for a few miles more,
Until I could no longer walk anymore.
So instead of finishing the race Boston Qualifyin’,
I was picked up in a Walmart parking lot cryin’.
Femoral Neck Stress Fracture is what the MRI found.
I was told that I needed a hip replacement to be safe and sound.
Luckily for me, healing bones is my super power!
Alternative recovery requires me non weight bearing, in order to flower.
I’m so grateful for all the amazing help I’ve received.
And dam you marathon goal, one day you WILL be achieved.
You may know me as Anna Hutchison,
But as I recover, feel free to call me-
‘Miss CRUTCHESon’.

I don’t sleep much anymore.
But there’s heaps more laughter in my life.
There are so many more kisses and cuddles.
There are more questions, and fantastical answers.
There’s a lot more mess, noise and chaos.
There is a lot more reason and purpose.
This beautiful life is so much more than what I could have dreamed of, all because of these precious loves of mine, who have made me who I always wanted to be.

If you know me, you know I HATE to be cold. I pinned my number to my running vest so I had to unpin, run, unzip, run, repin, run and didn’t want to throw away my vest so I kept it stashed between my back and my camelbak🤣 it kinda looks like I’m running with a rucksack!
Wooohooo- I wouldn’t do that again😅😜🫠
So except for a costume tweak, I wouldn’t change a thing.
