♠ It's a huge pleasure to announce a SECOND summer gig at the Albert's shed, Shrewsbury!
Headlining on August the 4th, we bring you the melodic death metal of Ararka Based in Birmingham, Atarka have been making heads bang all over the country with their 2020 album 'Sleeping Giant' and their latest EP 'The Mountain'. The latter even boasts the appearance of Bjorn from Soilwork on their single 'Barbarian'! Give them a listen and see why they are a force to be reckoned with in the midlands scene.
Completing this heavy metal party, we also have Past The Fall and DAM.G on the bill! Past The Fall impressed absolutely everyone on their last BTL event in Machynlleth and it's great to have them make their Shrewsbury debut. Groovy & thrashy with a virtuosic musical flair, they will be showcasing material from the acclaimed 'From Insanities Ruin' album. DAM.G have been making waves with their unique blend of symphonic metalcore that's inspired by anime/Japanese rock and they will be opening the show with their expansive, richly textured sound. It all rounds up to a stellar night of great riffing music, so mark it on the calendar and tell your friends because this event is FREE ENTRY! (Ages 16+)

Atarka - Sleeping Giant Review
Track by track
1. Sleeping Giant... A short into track with haunting guitar riffs
2. The Bastard...Heavy, fast with slick chugging riffs. Growling vocals that extend to screams. It wasn't long before I found myself moving to the rhythm.
3. Tollund Man...Great intro that sets the tone for the track. Then the aggressive vocals kick in. If you weren't losing your sh*t already, then you will be on this track. As Beavis and Butthead would say "Dun Dun, Dun Dun, this sh*t rocks"
4. Golden Snake...Fast intro with vocals kicking in almost straight away. The rhythm ramps up into a crescendo of aggressive vocals and clean vocals. By far one of my favourite tracks on this album.
5. Miasma...A steady intro that explodes in your face, like boom, have some of this! Again a great combination of aggressive and clean vocals with intensive drums and guitar that takes you along for the ride.
6. The Tempest... A rhythmic and steady intro that lulls you into a false sense of security, before the tempo starts to raise in stages, getting heavier, then the explosion! Absolute f*cking aggression from all members of the band here. I love how they bring in the clean vocals again here to parlay the roaring vocals, then boom it hits hard and fast again.
7. 731...This is fast and aggressive with a great rhythm. Loved how the drums really built up and intro'd n the guitars around the 3:30 mark with clean vocals at the end.
8. Nebula... Excellent dirty riffs in the intro. Then it's steady's until BOOM a punch right in the face, fast, heavy, just ripping organised chaos. Then the clean vocals that lead you back into the aggressive fast whirlwind, then mlre clean cocals, heavy guitars and vocals that serve as a stone cold stunner to the listener. This song is a roller coaster and another one of my favourites.
9. Shadow of the King..."RISE, RISE, RISE" Another great blend of clean and dirty vocals. Drums that got my feet tapping and guitars that made me want to conquer a small country!!!
10. Delacroix...Oh Yes! The way to end an album, if you thought you were getting any mercy on the last track, well you ain't!!! This track pushes hard, eases somew
