❤️‍🔥 5 YEARS ❤️‍🔥 5 years ago I started a new chapter of my life. Jan 22, 2019 feels like both yesterday AND a lifetime ago. What a wild ride these past 5 years have been. Drag has allowed me to learn so much about myself and my place in the gay community. I have met so many incredible people and gotten the chance to travel to & perform in new cities, just so many opportunities that I otherwise would’ve never dreamt of. To baby Aurora Matrix, look at how far you’ve come. I wish I could go back and show myself everything I’ve accomplished since high school. From discovering and watching drag race at 16, to becoming the runner-up of @canadasdragrace season 4, I truly have become my own superhero. I got to represent my culture, my family, and my home city of Toronto and the drag scene there. Your Phoenix Queen is here to stay and there is so much more to come this year. Where will I be in another 5 years? Who knows! 🧧 Labour of Love 🧧 Huge thank you to @_thesukidoll for this incredible finale gown. Since before getting in drag race, I have always known that my finale gown would be an empress gown to pay homage to ancient China 🔥 The extravagance of this gown truly brought the fantasy to life, from the amount of fabrics and all of the details in the phoenix appliqués, to the hair and headpiece. And shoutout to @connormccalden for styling the hair as a base for the headpiece. ❤️‍🔥 It feels… CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE ❤️‍🔥 And just like that, it all comes to an end! I want to take a moment to thank @canadasdragrace for this incredible experience. Going into this competition, you never know what to expect, and my god was I in for a surprise this season. The twists, the guest judges, the drama, all of it made for such an amazing season, and I am so happy that I get to say I was a part of it. @bhytes @bradgoreski @tracimelchor thank you for all of your critiques and feedback throughout the season. Since the show, I’ve already grown so much, but there is so much for for me to learn and I can’t wait to see where Aurora Matrix will take me moving forward. My season 4 sisters, I could not have asked for a better sisterhood of girls to have with me on this journey. Regardless of eliminations, we have all shown the diverse talent we have in Canada, and we will continue to past this season. To my parents. I love you 🫶🏻 Look how far we have come!!
