✨️BREAKING NEWS ✨️ We are excited to announce that Ava’s Army presented the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Nebraska Dare to Dream team with a $70,000 donation to support a study special to our family and board. We held a check presentation event this week with several pediatric blood cancer families, board members, and LLS staff. Did you know that children with Down syndrome are at a much higher risk of developing leukemia? Ava’s little brother, Bennett, has Down syndrome, and after Ava’s diagnosis and treatment, this statistic hit the Reinert family hard. They are thrilled to be supporting Dr. Adam De Smith through his LLS-funded epidemiology study of ALL in high-risk populations, including children with Down syndrome. WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT ALL OF YOU!!!! Every dollar matters. Thank you for supporting Ava's Army and our mission 💛

This year, Ava's Army is making a total of $1️⃣4️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ in donations to research!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 This brings our total to: $309,000 donated to fund life-saving research!!!! 🧡🎗 Donation #1 ($70,000) in partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Crazy 8 Grant: Barcoding Leukemia for Therapeutic Purposes "Summary of Project: We hypothesize that pediatric leukemias develop from blood stem cells that arise during fetal life....Our studies will identify when and where pediatric leukemias arise in development and will find new mechanism-based therapies to treat patients." Donation #2 ($70,000) in partnership with the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Dare to Dream Project. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Nebraska "Leveraging Susceptible Populations and Unique Resources in a Pathway to Prevention of Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common cancer in children and remains a leading cause of childhood mortality. Further, survivors of childhood ALL face long-term chronic health conditions due to the harsh effects of chemotherapy treatment. Thus, prevention of childhood ALL remains the ultimate goal, but this will only be achievable by understanding its causes, by elucidating its natural history, and by identifying children with the greatest risk of developing ALL. The goals of my research program are to understand the causes of childhood ALL and how it first develops, and to lay the groundwork for prevention of this disease in at-risk children."

New Ava's Army swag has arrived!!!

WOW! Thank you to the Centris Federal Credit Union teams! They used their team building activities for Ava's Army and our warriors. They made door hangers that will be used in the 5th Annual Ava's Army Sugarplum Ball silent action and also made one of a kind, personalized capes for our warriors across the state! Thank you so much! Your time, talents, and efforts are greatly appreciated!!!!

Today was the annual Jaffery Insurance Ava's Army golf tournament!!! We are so grateful to have the continued partnership and support of @jafferyinsurance and their team! It was perfect weather raising money for research! Thank you Cyrus and your team for all you do!
