Happy to have run into @booksonthebosque at @tractorbrewing with @sydlinkletter and had to support and buy a book. I've been curious for years so I got American Prometheus to delve in to. Love supporting all these local groups and artists!
As I sit here editing a live #MentalHealth concert I shot months ago for the #NMGMC I can't help but think about the difference of styles in photography that @sydlinkletter pointed out between my style and @rachaeluphoto . She said that I shotgun shoot, capturing everything, and Rachael captures specific shots and images. And it's probably totally true. I want all the moments, take them all, save these moments in time, because I am chasing moments.
But as I edit this footage I find I'm chasing feelings, moods, tempos, and thoughts. I'm trying to elevate and convey further what the performers were doing through quicker cuts or sustained shots. Not looking away or changing cameras to hold a moment, or changing cameras frantically with the beat to keep the emotional rhythm going through the distant viewer.
I'm trying to construct a moment in moving pictures like I've been told other photographers do with stills.
Just a personally interesting realization.
And I hope you're doing well.
My @voyagedenvermag interview came out a little bit ago. Give it a read, and drop me a line, let me know what cool thing you have going on! Let's make some awesome art!

Got asked by my old theater teacher to help judge the #ThespianConference this year. It's been very interesting to see the wide range of talents from different places and recognize some of the pieces from my time in theater make a comeback.
Here's to the future #performers and the magic they will share!
