I’ve always been more quad dominant. I’ve somewhat neglected my posterior chain over the years, simply because I didn’t enjoy training it and I had trouble connecting to those muscles. Recently, I’ve started prioritizing hinging movements more- and they’ve now become a staple in my own training.
Few cues I like to remind myself of, while performing this stiff leg dead lift are:
1)Pushing the knees as far back as possible, and keeping the legs as straight as you can on the descent. A little bend in the knees is okay, as you do want to avoid any potential injury to the joint.
2)Keeping your core engaged the entire time you perform the movement, as well as keeping the dumbbells as close to your body as possible.
3)Keeping your chest up, as this will protect your lower back and prevent any rounding.
