This year marks the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, a pivotal moment in history for the global gay rights movement. We honour the brave activists who fought for their rights and dignity, and we recognize the progress that has been made since then. We also acknowledge the challenges and barriers that still exist for many 2SLGBTQIA+ people here in Canada and around the world. We stand in solidarity with them.
