I remember growing up as a little girl in New York City, dancing around the house to Cyndi’s music, one of my mother’s favorite artists - who then quickly became mine. Not only was I drawn to her infectious melodies and her edgy style, but it was mostly her unapologetic nature to be her authentic self. She helped empower me not only as an artist, but most importantly as a woman.
@cyndilauper , your legacy as an artist, singer, songwriter, actress and activist will now forever be enshrined in Hollywood history. Your heart is as big as your talent and as you continue to make the world a better place, no one is more deserving of this than you.
Thank you for inspiring so many of us throughout the years. It was an honor to be able to share this special moment with you. Love youuu
