I forgot these in the room we checked out of and almost cried. They kind of felt like the only thing holding me together. Traveling with 2 very small kids is not for the faint of heart, and it’s truly testing me in every way. We are used to Jax being at daycare 5x a week, taking naps, in his own room, and River sleeping in his own bed. I am someone who needs alone time to recharge and I haven’t had a second to myself in 6 days. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) - I know this is a privilege. To have help, to travel this long, let alone at all. I’m aware, but it’s still really challenging. And we’re going to figure it out. Chris and I will pass the kids off better, we will communicate better. I will continue to repeat to myself quietly “I am calm” until it becomes my reality. I know luck isn’t the only way through this, but it’s nice to feel like it’s on my side.
On another note I learned a few things about clovers from the clover queen herself @brittdeyan :

So the odds feel like they’re in our favor right now 🍀
I can’t believe we have a 3 year old! To the boy who flipped our world upside down. Your brightness, fierce independence, silliness, and love are things I wish I could bottle up and save forever. It’s been so much fun watching you grow. Thank you for showing me the peak life experience of being a mom. We love you!

Also PSA - @freestyle.world diapers are all we’ve been putting on this dude since he’s been born. We started buying these for Jax a couple of years ago, and once we tried them we never went back to the old brands. We’ve tried dyper, honest, Huggies, pampers, and Kirkland, and none compare to how soft these are. I love that they’re made with bamboo and come in the cutest prints. I’ve seen them at Whole Foods and other grocery stores, but you can buy them online too. From one mom to another 😉
Sometimes self care looks like sacrificing your child and posting the good photo of yourself. And other times it’s buying one of each of the pretty treats. (The chili watermelon bites and caramel were on another level 🤯)
